Today it just clicked. Jack has been really wanting to ride without training wheels, but every time we try it’s just been harder for the both of us than we hope for. I’ve been running along side with him out of breath, too nervous to let go. And he’s been so nervous and wobbly, that the moment the bike so much as tilts he’s been throwing his feet down.
But today…that all changed. In a snap. Literally. I just let go, and he…kept going.
For me, it was one of those momentous moments of watching my little guy turn into a big boy. Bittersweet really.
For him, it was amazing. Freedom. Pride. And hours of riding.
