I'm feeling unbelievably good. I've taken a few walks around the neighborhood, and despite looking completely exhausted - I have no complaints. (Especially since I fit into one of my non-maternity pairs of jeans today!! Woohoo!)
The kids seem to be adjusting great. Jack's interest in Brinkley is on and off...he likes looking at her and is always curious about where she is, but he's not all that interested in holding her. His biggest fascination is in the "squishy part" of her head, and how we have to be really careful with her. Kingsley prefers for us to call Brinkley her baby instead of her sister, which is fine by me. If someone asks her "is that your sister?" she says "no, me baby!". She actually has shown very little interest in her beloved dolls since Brinkley's arrival; I guess a real baby is much more exciting! She loves to hold her, kiss her, and even help wipe her during a diaper change.
John has joke with his friends that he hasn't felt the impact of a third yet because of Mimi's unbelievable help, but he's definitely in love with our sweet baby. Love this first picture of him with "his girls".
What can I say? Mimi is unquestionably the reason things have gone so smoothly this first week. She is simply the best help anyone could ever ask for. Wherever help is needed, Mimi is right there, and there's just no way we would have gotten through these first days without her. I DREAD the day she leaves to go back home.
